Anyone interested in trading portability and screen space for more speed, hard drive space, graphics capabilities, and an Apple warranty?
I have a like-new Mac Mini, just over a month old. Stock 1.42 Ghz configuration, with the combo drive and 80-gig hard drive; I've opened it up and dropped in 512 megs of RAM. I don't care what anybody says, these machines really do need 512 megs to run like you want them to. Sorry, no Airport or Bluetooth on this machine.
A couple of very small scratches on the aluminum on the bottom, from when I opened it up. Not noticeable unless you're planning to run the machine upside down. I'm not sure why you'd do that. I've got the original box and all packing material, all the original software discs, the DVI-to-VGA thingy, everything you'd get buying it new. It really is in excellent, completely functional condition.
I really like this machine, but I'm in need of portability right now; I'm handing my iBook down to my daughter, and I'd like to get in trade for the Mini one of the older TiBooks. I'd consider a 400, if it was tricked out and in amazing condition; a 500, somewhat tricked out and in damn good condition, or a 550 or 667, in solid, workable condition.
Please, I don't want anything with screwed up hinges or a broken screen; I need a machine that I can actually use at school. Flawless cosmetic condition's not as important to me, nor am I freaked out by a stuck pixel or two, especially on one of the faster machines -- but I'd like it to be reasonably well-cared for. A working battery that gets at minimum an hour to an hour-and-a-half is a must.
Please email me at - brent at fastermac dot net - if you're interested, or leave word on this thread. Please don't PM me.
I could give or take a little bit of money to even out a deal, if needed; or, if you'd like to buy the machine outright, I'd consider that, too, but I'm going to look at possible trades, first.
Thanks,
BK
