I just picked up my new 17" Powerbook and have decided to put my PB800 up for sale. This machine was my first Mac and has worked flawless for 1.5 years now. It is a 800Mhz, 512MB ram, 40GB Hard Drive, 15" screen. Loaded with OS/X Panther and numberous other software. Will leave as is, or clean install for the new owner. Both hinges were replaced 6 months ago but only 1 had broken. PM me for photos or if interested.
$1200

Thanks for your unvaluable insight. It is an 800Mhz, and I also just watched a 500Mhz go for $1225 on eBay. Perhaps next time you should keep quiet instead of posting useless info.

Why am I hostile? Maybe because your only purpose in posting was to say it was over priced and I had no clue what Mhz my machine really was. Why not keep that thought to yourself and move on? As for the 500Mhz on ebay here is the item number: 5768170367. My mistake though, it went for $1125.00

Hi CobraNT & osxpinot,
Not taking any sides here, but perhaps offering some clarity from the outside. I am an independent consultant and I handle PowerBooks and iBooks as part of my regular business. You are pretty much right on target CobraNT with your asking price. This leaves you a little room to negotiate in case you have to absorb PayPal fees, shipping, etc. There is a solid market for the Titanium machines as people still absolutely love them and they were, and are still, very good computers. I have the same Ti 800 in my office that I am preparing to list for sale and I am sure it will do well. It does have a little more ram and the Superdrive upgrade but any Ti in excellent condition will hold relatively good value. Surprisingly, the aluminum 'Books are not holding as high a value percentage as the Ti's but the longer Ti's are out of production, the more difficult it is to find exceptionally nice ones. Thos will be the ones that level off at a good value and serious buyers know the difference in average and higher quality and are willing to pay the difference for quality.
Good luck with your sale and I hope this has been some useful and constructive information.

This 'For Sale' thread sucks... I think a lock and re-post is in order.

I agree. I'm sorry for hijacking this thread. However, I stand by my opinion on the price.
