I'm looking for an imac g5, it must be the 20" model and it must have superdrive. Please post here or send me an email directly about the specs and what your asking. I can pay via my verified paypal account or send a money order (NOT Western Union) to your home.

I've got one. It's:

iMac G5 1.8GHz 20"
- 20" LCD display (zero dead pixels)
- 512MB RAM
- 160GB HD
- SUPERDRIVE
- BLUETOOTH (internal module)
- BLUETOOTH keyboard and mouse
- AIRPORT EXTREME CARD

List price is $1900 + 100 upgrade for bluetooth stuff + 80 for airport extreme + more RAM + applicable taxes.... So, $21XX or so + taxes...

make me an offer.

I am still in the market. Keep in mind apple sells refurbs for $1600. I am willing to pay that price or go above but it would have to come with more than an apple stock machine.

I would say that if since you can get a refurbished iMac from Apple with a full year warranty for $1600, add $79 for AE, $25 for 256 more RAM, and $100 for Bluetooth...that's about $1800. So his used one should be worth around $1500-1600. Not sure what exactly he lowballed you with though.

I offered $1500 without the bluetooth stuff and said I would go higher if he wouldn't break up the package. Considering the price of refurbs, I think that is very reasonable.

i don't have time for this... i don't have any idea why you do...

let's set the record straight... here was amphora's PM to me:

" Is the ram in one slot or two slots? The listg of your machine, without the upgrades is 1600 as an apple
refurb, which would still have more warranty than your machine correct? I'm not so interested in the
bluetooth stuff as I hate putting batteries back in all the time, but if it comes in the package, I can
handle that. I would be very interested at $1500 depending on how much warranty is left. "

STATEMENT: "Well it looks like Chipchen is looking to get exactly what he paid."

RESPONSE: All I PMed back was "Go buy a refurb." I never said I wanted "what I paid."

STATEMENT: "I am willing to pay that price or go above but it would have to come with more than an apple stock machine."

RESPONSE: I obviously have more than an "apple stock machine." Yet in the reply you make it pretty clear you'd be inerested at "$1500 depending on how much warranty is left." Don't tell me that less warranty makes it more than $1500.

STATEMENT: "I offered $1500 without the bluetooth stuff and said I would go higher if he wouldn't break up the package."

RESPONSE: Who did you offer that to?

STATEMENT: "Considering the price of refurbs, I think that is very reasonable."

RESPONSE: If you like refurbs, that's good for you. I don't like refurbs, and I consider it my right to believe my machine is of higher value than that of a refurb. You don't have to agree.

STATEMENT: "He then replies in an unfriendly way with no explanation or discussion."

RESPONSE: Oh come on... were your feelings hurt? You send me a low offer and try to tell me I should like it... What... I don't have the right to not sell to you? Go buy a refurb. Plain and simple. I don't want to sell it to you.

STATEMENT: "I posted the comment so that others like Chipchen who are looking at getting a higher end price can save us both some time."

RESPONSE: Right... You said, "Chipchen is looking to get exactly what he paid," as an educational comment for people? I said no quickly to save the time. You acted like a child.

STATEMENT: "I don't see what is wrong with that, it is not as if my offer was way out or anything"

RESPONSE: For me, I get to choose what offers I like and don't like. I didn't like your offer, but I didn't like your attitude more. So I said no. "what is wrong with that?" like you said.

STATEMENT: "plus I was willing to talk."

RESPONSE: Look, you're trying to get a better deal, less than what a 17" iMac goes for. I could care less, you go do that. But I don't want to waste my time with you. Save time right?

NOW.. mods, please lock this thread. This is rediculous.

I've got a machine worth over $2000 retail with all it's add ons, etc. Figuring that it's a few months old, of course it has to sell for much less. I think any offer over $1650 or $1700 or so would be worth looking at. I don't care if you can buy a refurb... lots of people don't like refurbs because of the possibility of getting dead pixels, bad parts, cosmetic damage, etc. Do I not have the right to value my own items? And here comes someone trying to tell me why $1500 is a good offer "depending on how much warranty is left." It's just not worth my time.

No dead pixels verified, that's worth something to someone. Especially on a 20" LCD. Internal bluetooth with keyboard and mouse, stock configurations don't have internal bluetooth. Extra RAM and an airport extreme card. Those are all things that are worth while. And it's NOT REFURBISHED... that definately worth something... especially to people like me.

I'm not looking for a "higher end price." Just one that's fair... I don't know what that's wrong. And I don't want to negotiate with someone with that attitude. Which, proved to be someone with obvious issues anyway.

So now we're done.

GO BUY A REFURB.

I apologize for upsetting you Chipchen. From the length of your response it appears as though this really bothered you and I really am sorry for that. I don't think my offer should be considered lowballing as it was reasonable, but regardless, it is your decision as to what price you want to sell your machine and there is nobody forcing you to discuss whether that price is reasonable, 'high end' or something else. I was trying to initiate a discussion so I could get a fair price, and as of yet, you never actually did tell me what you were looking for, you simply told me to get lost when I offered $1500 for just the machine. If I was looking for a refurb that is what I would have bought. I will repost this and ask that you please leave me alone and we can simply agree to disagree.
