I am getting rid of it just because I need some extra money for a new baby.

You don't need to have an additional data plan to use the Blackberry on VZW - but if you are a super heavy user its may be a good idea. Depends on your usage habits. I presently just use my regualr plan, while a buddy of mine has upgraded his plan. To each their own.

Yes it syncs using PocketMac

It has all the usual PDA functions and its also a great phone. I have no complaints at all.

All verizon pda's need a data plan, if none is choosen, then data will be charge at $0.015 per kb plus airtime
