Hey everyone, I've got the following stuff for sale, pretty much as a package unless I get an offer I can't pass up on an individual part. Contact me if you're interested!
1 - Powerbook 2400c unit (CARDBUS ENABLED)
-> 80MB Ram, 1.3GB HD, bright 10.4" TFT 16-bit color screen with no dead pixels (that I can see
at least), working keyboard/trackpad/clicker with minimal wear
on key labels
or trackpad surface, nearly free of cosmetic defects with one
exception (the protruding latch thing on the whitish part of the screen where you
close the screen to the unit is broken off, but the screen has very
taught hinges and stays shut even upside down. Some people like it
better this way anyway, I'm one of them. It's easier to open / close
and you can still sleep by going to Special --> Sleep.) Other than
that, the unit looks/functions perfectly save minimal scuffs from everyday use. No GLOD issues whatsoever,
working PRAM battery as far as I know.
Now for the accessories:
2 - Lithium Ion batteries. One came with the unit and provides 45
min. to 1:15 depending on usage. The other I bought on eBay and
provides 2-3 hours depending on usage.
1 - External SCSI Apple 300E 2x CD-ROM drive. Includes a caddy case,
power cord, and SCSI cable that works with the 2400c's port.
1 - Original Apple A/C Adapter, works fine, the cord isn't fraying or
breaking at the base
1 - Computer bag, it's a bit big for this machine but you can get it
in there so it stays nice and tight, plus there's room for things like
the CD-ROM if you feel like turning the 4.3lbs into 10 pounds :-P
NO EXTERNAL FLOPPY DRIVE WITH THIS, although you really don't need it these days. The included Apple CD-ROM is bootable without any modification!
That's it folks, if I'm forgetting something or if you need more info
let me know.
Asking $225 shipped for all of the above! However, I'll entertain any offers you have.

Unit has some software on it, but you know the deal. Delete it if you
don't have a license for it: ;-)
Mac OS 9.1, AIM, IE5, Microsoft Office 2k1, Clarisworks, Adobe
Photoshop, various games, Norton Utilities (minus defrag program),
other random things that I don't know right now

Pff, even with your "extras" that thing is worth fifty bucks on a good day.
180 Mhz PPC processor? I gig of HDD space? What a joke for $225
You need to check with the going prices or leave this forum. Your asking price is not only unrealistic its insulting to anyone with half a brain. And before this gets locked, and it better, you can't sell a computer with warez here.

Actually, mrbigcdx's asking price isn't bad. The 2400c has a cult following both in the US and overseas (Japan in particular), even larger than that of the Cube. I have seen 2400c's fetch several hundred on eBay even in recent weeks.
You guys might wanna do your own investigating first.

Seriously.. Sometimes the 2400's can fetch $350+ at Auction (Lord Knows why, but they do)..
It's one thing to disagree with someone, but there's no need to berate them.

Thanks for your support to the above posters. To anyone who didn't know, yes, this machine has a cult following (especially in Japan). It may only be a 180mhz 603ev with 80mb RAM and 1.3GB HD, but it's still the lightest laptop made by Apple to date. And there's hundred's of customization parts out there, ranging from translucent keyboards to 400mhz G3 upgrades. Finding them, however, is another thing. The G3 upgrades alone for this machine, sans computer, fetch $300-$600 depending on type and brand!!! That's how devoted these people are to their 2400c's. I've seen one of these machines, the very machine I'm selling, upgraded to a 60gb hard disk, 112mb ram, 400mhz g3, and all sorts of case/light mods! The guy probably threw the price of a new PowerBook G4 15" top of the line into it, if not more!
Now, to comply with the forum I'll gladly remove the software. That's no problem at all! But please, either do your research on the machine before ridiculing me or don't say anything. Or, make an offer Thank you.

I got one for $5 at an auction, and the people there sneered about how stupid I was to want it. Of course, that was at an auction where the people mostly do not know the difference between an SGI, a forklift, and a toaster. Also, it has some monkey damage because the previous owner hired some monkeys to remove the hard drive, but that was made up for because the thing had a 200MHZ G3 upgrade in it.
When I started looking for parts to repair the monkey damage I quickly found that it would cost far more to fix that I payed for the laptop. I would sat that he could well sell it for $200, but that it may take some work. Anyway, the thing is worth far more than $50, but I do not want to buy it because I already have one.
