Video card is not an issue. I already have a Mac SE 9800 Pro 256MB AGP.

I just need a PowerMac that's at least a 1.8 or higher, Dual CPU would be nice as well but not required. This is just gonna be a home PC and a game machine.

Trying to keep it around $1,300

Let me know if anyone has anything for sale.

Look in the Special Deals (Sale) section on Apple's website. They have refurbished SP 1.8GHz models going for $1299.

In my experience a refurb is the only way to go. You get the same warranty and every refurb I have seen or bought has been just like new. If you are looking for a used one you may not get Tiger and the warranty might be out.

Just a thought.

I will have a single G5 1.8 available within a week or so. 1.5GB RAM and the 160GB HD. Airport Extreme, OS X 10.3, and superdrive. The keyboard and mouse have never been touched and I would ship it in the original box.

Let me know if you are interested.

Hmm I also see that they have a refurb dual 1.8Ghz with a faster FSB (900mhz) for $200 more. Is it worth the extra?

If I were buying one of the two I would go for the DP. It is worth the extra cash and will probably last you longer in terms of performance.

Also, check out this thread. You can easily turn the single layer burning Superdrive into a double layer burning Superdrive. The thread explains the way to do this on the Sony drive. It is much easier on the Pioneer drives.

I have a SP 1.8ghz PM G5. It has 1gb of ram and 2x160gb hard drives, so a total of 320gb. I will come with the tiger (no cds though) as well as the box. Also, if you are interested, I have a 20" Apple Cinema screen with ADC connector. Shoot me a pm and we can work something out.
