Hi all. I'm primarily a Mac user, but built a Windows PC not too long ago with some of the leftover money from my tax refund. I decided it would be nice to have a Windows/Linux desktop around for compatibility and for gaming, but I just don't have the time or motivation half the time to fire it up and play a game, so I think offering it up as a trade is a good idea for me.
Most of the parts I've put in this thing I've ordered brand new from NewEgg a little more than a month ago. I'm not exactly willing to part out at the moment, because I'm looking for a Mac desktop in trade. I realize that Apples' retain their value quite a bit, so I won't be able to get much of a machine for this -- but another Mac around the house wouldn't hurt. A G3 or higher would be nice. I won't take a beige box or anything older. I'm not really too keen on anything with a built-in display unless it's a G4 iMac or something of the sort -- but still, don't hesitate to offer anything.
The specs of the PC are as follows:
Brand new Foxconn case with front USB, audio (Minitower)
420W Thermaltake PurePower PSU
Foxconn 648FX4MR-ES Socket 478 SIS 648FX Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
2.4GHz Intel Pentium 4 Processor
2 x 512MB 184-pin DDR SDRAM (PC 3200) (one stick is a pqi, I'm not sure on the other)
Maxtor slim 40GB 7200RPM HD
NEC DVD-ROM
Retail ATi Radeon 9800 flashed to pro 128MB VRAM
Maxtor PCI ATA/IDE interface card (to add in more HDs)
Inferno PCI Firewire card (3 ports)
Front panel Coolermaster fan speed controller with LEDs (red, green, blue, off)
Black Dell keyboard/HP Optical mouse included if you need one
I've replaced the stock heatsink/fan combo with a Dynatron D3A I bought from NewEgg. I'll include both the new Dynatron and the original HSF combo. Depending on the trade, I can add another 40GB HD in. Also, depending on trade, I could swap the NEC DVD-ROM with a Pioneer 106 DVD+-RW drive as well (but I'd really hate to part with it, atm).
I can ship FedEx or UPS, whichever you prefer, and it will be insured. I don't know a whole bunch about PC hardware, but I can try to answer any questions you may have. This system has never been overclocked and is in good working condition (posting on it right now). This system doesn't come with an OS (I will load Ubuntu if you'd like). I have an OEM XP Home license, but can't find the CD (the Maxtor HD is a Dell OEM part). I also have some software I can include as well if you would like:
Unreal Tournament 2004
Doom III
Half-Life 2/CS:S, with CS 1.6 and CZ added as well
FarCry
All games are legit with original media and working online CDKeys.
I can also include some little things in the deal if need be as well like a USB KVM switch, a brand new in box Dell printer, et cedera. Let's just talk deal.
Pictures can be found here.
(Keep in mind these are a tiny bit outdated, I have added the coolermaster fan controller that is silver in color to the top drive bay.)
