Right now Apple is selling a refurbished model (or special deals section) of this bare bone model for $1099 (the one with the superdrive) Plus the extra ram and applecare so.... make a reasonable offer!
Also please only payment from verified confirmed paypal addresses for security (mine is too)

It cost 1299 for ibook and 300 for the ram and 249 for the applecare plus taxes in October... $1350 shipped sounds fair. It would cost 1099 plus 300 plus 249 to buy it from apple right now (plus tax)

I might have a family member who would be interested. One question: How did he manage to get 2GB of RAM in there? Don't the iBooks have 512MB soldered in? The website says that they are expandable to 1.5GBs.

I apologize for the confusion! He had the maximum put in and I just assumed it was 2 gigs but yes it is in fact 1.5 gigs. The 512mb soldered in and then the addition slot has a 1 gig in it making it a total of 1.5. Also-I have an ebay account for reference (motorgrrrl) and a verified confirmed paypal for security. Ive also bought and sold a few items on here yet not gotten any feedback etc... :-/ All the sales went smooth too....
