Hi All,

I've had my new powerbook for about a week, and it's just not enough horsepower for some of the video editing I need to do. Rather than take a restock charge at apple I thought I'd pass it on here.

This is a current gen 15" powerbook that I bought last week. The only thing that's been added to it is a 512mb stick of apple ram. So, it's 1.67g/1gb RAM/80gb HD/8x Superdrive/ATI 9700 128mb/AE/BT/Backlit keyboard. Like new mint, no dead pixels, case is perfect, inbox, all original packaging, disks, manuals, etc.. Also includes the new iLife06 install DVD and iWork06 demo. I will include original receipt and it is obviously applecare eligible.

I have 100% positive seller feedback on eBay (rating over 50), and have sold many items here on MacNN. I'm not open to trades at this point as I want to see what the next few months bring in terms of PowerMac announcements.

New price is 1999.95 plus $100 for the RAM. I'll sell this for $1400.00 plus $50.00 shipping/insurance to the US. Paypal accepted and preferred, but you MUST have a verified paypal address. I will consider shipping outside of US, but higher shipping charges will apply. Please PM if interested.

Thank you.

Price dropped to $1600.00 plus shipping, and bump. Need to move this, last reduction before it goes to eBay.

Final price drop - $1500 plus shipping/insurance. I'll get more than this for it if I take it to eBay so final price is FIRM. That's a current gen 15" Powerbook, and an additional 512MB of Apple Ram. I've been told refurbs are $1699 on the Apple site, but want to point out that they do not include the $100 ram upgrade, nor do they include iLife 06. This machine is a month old and is applecare eligible.

i would take it to ebay. the best offer i got for my 17" powerbook (current gen with 1680x1050) on this forums was $1600, and i included some extras/bonuses, including Virtual PC (worth $250). it really is a buyer's market here. Since I just sold my powerbook on ebay, here's a headsup on some of the fees (mine sold for $2050). Paypal - $60, Shipping - $50 for UPS Ground

and a heads up on Fedex. They won't ship a laptop fully insured unless it is in their special "laptop box." If you don't ship it using their box, they can only insure it for $100 (yes, one hundred). So if you ship it with THEIR laptop box, that means you have to ship the original powerbook box separately. good luck!

I've shipped several laptops via Fedex, and they ONLY require the $10 laptop box if the laptop is not in its original packaging/box. So as long as it's in the original box, you should be fine. I've NEVER had them force me to use their $10 box or tell me it won't be insured if it's in its original box.
