Hello everyone,
For sale: non-functional PowerBook G3/400 Pismo.
From testing I did last summer with parts from an identical machine, both the logic board and the CPU daughter card are dead. Everything else, including the screen, DC inverter (where the AC adapter plugs in), and the touchpad board (where the touchpad and batteries connect) are all good based on my testing.
The screen is in great shape with no dead pixels that I could find. The case is also in pretty good shape save for a few scuff marks (that the flash really seems to bring out). Also includes original 6 GB hard drive.
I no longer have an AC adapter, optical drive, memory, or battery, so this would make a great parts machine. The machine is also missing the PRAM battery module. I think it's in my apartment somewhere, but I haven't found it yet. I also think I have an extra trackpad board, too, but I have yet to find that as well.
Again, I'd prefer to sell this as a whole unit (because it's a pain to take apart), but I'd be willing to sell it piece by piece for the right price.
