This machine was purchased in the middle of last year and is in great condition. The original box is included.

Just thought I'd let you know that this same machine goes for $2150 in the Apple refurb section.

No, no, no! I'm not trying to rip anyone off! I didn't realize the Apple Store had this model listed as refurbished. Anyway, the revised price is $2250. Note that I also forgot to mention that AppleCare is included with the machine. Thanks!

still, no matter what. you should not price higher than apple. because people won't buy it. even if it has apple care. you have to say that the exact same machine from you will cost $150-200 less than if someone bought it from Apple. Just because it is Apple.

So I think $2100 with applecare is going to be about all you can get

Well, by your logic, the price should be about $100 more ($2150 refurbished - $200 depreciation + $250 AppleCare = $2200). If you're interested but you don't feel the price is appropriate, make an offer. I'm more than willing to be flexible.

I disagree. This is a FS/FT Forum and someone is entitled to sell an item for what they want. You can PM them another offer, or PM them if you disagree, but don't post that in the thread. I think that is threadcrapping. And to accuse someone of ripping others off because their price is higher then you think is wrong. Again, isn't that what PM or email is for??
At least every other forum I have visited feels that way..

I do it because as someone who buys and sells regularly, I feel we, as a community, have a responsibility to inform others of the reality of the situation.

This is not threadcrapping. You should see some of my buy/sell threads over at macrumors. Now people threadcrapping those threads like crazy.

I am just trying to have the OP offer a price that would be more likely to warrant a sale.

clearly thread crapping unless you are making an offer on the machine...

he can sell it for $10,000 if he wants...

guidelines say constructive criticism is OK. I suggest he sells it at a lower price. No one is biting on the overpriced PC

suggesting he is trying to "rip people off" is thread crapping in my book.

if i were selling i would consider it that.

snarf13 gave criticism nicely, letting him know what other similar machines are priced.

just saying
as ever,
sonny
