err, ahh..
let's start at ~$1k - you can get refurb 1.5ghz 15'' from apple for ~1.6k
i'd say this machine is worth still ~60% of that.

I assume no Applecare on it, since it's broken.

I've got a lead on another PB, same specs as yours but 1.5 GB RAM and it's not broken. He's asking $1000 for it. And it's got Applecare until 11/06.

There's just a huge risk in buying a machine that's already got a problem, if something were to happen to the other RAM slot you'd be in for some expensive repairs.

I really don't know if I'd pay more than $700 for that, since the risk of an expensive repair is so strong. However, you can probably find someone that would pay $1000, so I wouldn't expect you to come down for me.

Well I'll trade you my 1.2 GHz 12" iBook for it. It's got 1.25 GB RAM.

I get about 2 hours with lowest visible brightness, airport on, safari browsing, and terminal apps running (perl, awk, etc).

I'm not sure what the battery life would be on medium brightness and airport on (running what kind of apps?)

iBatt says:
Your computer's model code is "PowerBook5,2". The total charge capacity of your battery is 4.293 Ah. Your battery is in good health. Although it shows some wear, its capacity is better than average for computers of your model.

Grade: B+

Powerbook is not really for sale or trade anymore.

Lowered price for SODIMM and AXIM.
