hi

why is it that a while back apple were placing animated gifs and banners on their website telling people to paste them on their websites and to make stickers to advocate the mac platform

and now your not allowed to use the apple logo - i.e = maccards.com / macsurfshop.com

If I repair apple macs and I put an advert in the paper (using the apple logo) could I be in trouble with apple and be forced to remove it?

The apple logo, it's design parameters, and everything else about it belongs to APPLE, through copyrighting.... ©

The only way you can LEGALLY use it is to obtain WRITTEN permission from apple............and yes, they could bring legal action against you, if they wanted too
Signatures are ugly. Bitchy women are ugly......YOU do the math :)

I'm an Apple Authorized Business Agent and can second the above post - they can be pretty picky about the use of the apple logo.

By the same token, it's not in the interest of their corporate image to go pounding on some little business who takes care of their computers.

If you want to join the AABA program, go to agents dot apple dot com and take a look. For the $50 application fee (and providing you pass the legal parameters), you can safely use the logo. I don't know the scoop for their other programs (like resellers), but they might be worth looking into too.
