A friend of mine has what we believe is one of these. The unit is not the Gigabit Ethernet version but I cannot change the title of the thread. The sticker on the inside by the battery says that is is a 500MHz, 30GB HD, 256MB RAM, Airport, DVD. The screen is 15.4" widescreen. We do not have a power adapter for it. The last time he saw it on it was running on the battery which is now completely out of charge. I plugged in my AC adapter from my iBook and it turns orange but the battery on the PowerBook never charges up and we cannot get it to turn on. We're assuming that something is wrong with the logic board. The unit is in great physical shape with minimal scratches and the paint under where your wrists would be had not worn of like lots of other older PowerBooks I've seen. Anyway since we cannot get it too come on, he would like to see if anyone might be interested in it for parts. He wants to sell it as a whole unit for now and does not what to part it out at this time. From what we can tell the screen looks fine with no scratches. We cannot vouch for dead pixels since we cannot get the unit on. The last time he saw it on the screen hard drive and RAM were working. He never put a disc in it so we don't know about the DVD drive. We also never connected it to a wireless LAN so we don't know about the Airport card either. Unfortunately we do not have a second machine that we could swap parts with to see it we can in fact isolate things down to the logic board (which we are assuming is the problem).

Anyway, I think that is all the info that we have to offer on it. If there is any interest please contact me. I will try to post pictures shortly. I am assuming this can be used for parts. Thanks very much.
