I've got a slot-loading Apple combo drive which I no longer use, pulled from a 1.42 GHz (PowerPC) Mac Mini. It is a standard height laptop optical drive, with the exception of absent LED and eject button, as it was designed this way to fit the tight enclosures of Apple products.
The Apple model number is CW-8124-C, but this drive is nearly identical to the standard Panasonic UJ-8124. It will fit in a Mac Mini, several PowerBooks, iBooks, and surely many other machines.
