A good friend wants to buy my G4 20" iMac and I need to figure out a fair price. I would appreciate your feelings/thoughts.

Specs.:
1. 768MB of RAM
2. 2x DVD-R
3. 160GB
4. Apple Pro Speakers, Keyboard, Mouse
5. 1.25GHz
6. 1 dead pixel in display
7. 1 year left of AppleCare

I'm thinking in the $850-950 range. Thanks!

A Mac mini is around $350 used and a 20" display is around $250... add the premium that it's an Apple display and the ram and AppleCare...

I would say $800 - $850 for a stranger... $650 - $750 for a friend.

The dead pixel hurts the price but I think $800-$850 is fair since I don't see 20" displays going for $250 that often (chipchen where are you seeing that price).
There are a number of people that really like this model mac so I would check some recent ebay auctions to see if it is in fact catching a premium.

Well, I'm thinking 19" LCDs go for about $200-$300... when you can find a good deal, you can get a 20" display for $250. Heck, Dell 24" LCDs go for about $600 when there's a good deal.

The position of the dead pixel make s a big difference though.

I decided on $750. The dead pixel is up in the menu bar so it really isn't noticeable unless you are in something the fills the screen in black then you see the stuck Red pixel. Thanks for your help.
