***SOLD*** Here's what I have for sale: Item #20-231-069 NBM 1G|G.SK F2-5300PHU1-1GBSAR which is a 1GB memory stick for you macbook/blackbook, I have 2 of them. Both purchased from Newegg on Jul 3, 2006 so it is new, never used, package is open though. I paid $144 for both of them together.

Here's the situation. Purchased my new Macbook with the basic memory with plans to upgrade aftermarket. Macbook arrives, I attempt the upgrade and I got the blinking light. I go back to the Apple memory and the Macbook doesn't power up at all. Tried everything. So I send my Macbook in for repair which is where I am currently. Without a macbook until they return it (painful).

Anyway, when I get this Macbook back, I'm going to purchase the Apple OEM 2GB upgrade (expensive yeah I know) and let the genius specialist do it, not ready to take any more chances myself (unless someone can tell me what i did wrong).

So I'll need to sell this memory that I have. Willing to let it go for $99 shipped, you get a total of 2GB in memory (sold in pairs ONLY). You can have the receipt, too. Please PM me for details if you are interested. You will need to have Paypal with a confirmed address and live in the lower 48 states to take advantage of free USPS Priority Mail shipping.

Here's your chance to get the maximum memory upgrade, the fastest possible, all at a great price. This product is still new and unused so it is still under Newegg warranty. I guarantee against DOA so you'll be satisfied. Let me know if you need [eBay] references. Thanks.

um, if you attempted the upgrade, how can the memory be "new and unused"?

Guessing what you did wrong:
From the product number, it looks like you bought G.skill; not a company with a great reputation in my book.
When installing, did you push it all the way in? The newer higher frequency DDR2 slots are really really tight.

True, you have to use a LOT of force. Here's a tip: push really hard on one corner, then on another, rather than pushing straight in the middle of the chip.

It's new because it has never ever been used, only the packaging is open. No electricity has every flowed thru the chip as far as I know. While it has not been determined what the cause of my macbook failure is, I'm pretty sure it's not this particular ram. I have read all over the internet problems people are having changing anytime of macbook memory and I got the typical symptoms which are the blinking light and the later total failure to power on...lots of people are reporting the same. I'm not very good at working with my computer hardware, that is why I will just pay someone to upgrade my memory the next time. I did read about pushing hard and sliding memory from side to side but I never got that far because as soon as my Apple OEM did not power up the computer, not likely aftermarket would either. I thought I could try it like my macmini, but in any event, it is unlikely that I would be comfortable using force on my brand new expensive macbook.

So I guarantee this memory will give you 2 full GB lol and the speed you desire and it will perform just like new. Thanks for the feedback, now to reply individually to several pm's I rec'd.
