Hi all i'm really trying to get rid of some of these clamshells they are the graphite 466mhz ones w/ dvd roms. So i'm having a "pre-christmas sale." If you would like the full specs go to lowendmac.com and check them out. the only difference is that i have upped the RAM and HD. They come with a black power brick and the batteries are pretty much dead, although there is a program out there that will allow you to "recharge" it. There will be no operating systems installed. I also have parts for the Clammy's. The prices are listed below:

for a Graphite 466mhz Clamshell with a 10gb HD it will be 215 shipped.

with a 20gb HD 225 shipped

with a 30gb HD 235 shipped

with a 40gb HD 245 shipped.

I also have a beautiful Lime Clamshell ibook, it's also a 466mhz with a dvd rom. it has a lime colored matching mac case. a yoyo power cord and an almost brand new battery make an offer

466mhz Logic boards: 60 shipped

DVD-Rom's: 45 shipped

Lcd's: 35 shipped

------------------------------------------------------------------------

XBOX 360 GAMES:

1. Hitman Contracts 30 shipped
2. Oblivion 30 shipped
3. Project Gotham Racing 30 shipped

I am registered and established on ebay and on these message boards and others like it. my ebay id is: mpepper311

I am up for trades but i do know what things are worth. I also will do everything i can to make a deal with you. thanks.

You wouldn't happen to have a cd-rom for a clamshell would you? I've got a blue one that needs one bad.

Do you have a link to the program that will "recharge" the clamshell battery? I knew of a program that worked with my old PowerBook 540c.

Yeah, it "resets" the battery. I think it's on apple's website.

I'd just like to assert that he is a very responsible seller. Feel confident buying his iBooks and stuff.

huummm, responsible maybe,

reasonable ? not.........

$200+ for partially functional 6 yr old laptops (w/ generic power bricks) that the buyers will have to spend approx $200 (new battery + OS) to get full functionality from

And NO, I dont give a crap what the ebay idiots are paying for them

Plus he says he upgraded the ram, but doesnt say to what amount

Am I missing something here ?

Then seriously, why don't you just go to eBay? It's well established that people here are not willing to pay eBay prices. I do think your prices are too high, even by eBay standards.

A) Interested: yes. Knowledgable of used mac values: yes. Willing to overpay: NOT...... Ebay this forum is not. Most posters here are just not willing to pay ebay prices for things they know to be overpriced, myself included.

B) I dont have any beef w/you, or anyone else here, for that matter

C) Laptop w/working battery = mobility. Laptop - working battery = Ø mobililtiy = not fully functional. Buying a laptop w/o working battery should = lower price vs. buying laptop w/ working battery. I for one would NEVER buy a laptop just to use it as a desktop, thats what my G4 tower is for !

D) Yea, my momma told me that. She ALSO told me to be fair and reasonable, and to accept reality too

For the Lime one you posted, with a working battery, OEM power brick, & the case, I'd consider $225-250/shipped, with a 30GB HD, as a reasonable price, depending on the ram amount.

And BTW, why should anyone HAVE to pm you to discuss your prices or products. Sounds like you are afraid that a public discussion would ruin your chances of getting someone to pay your apparently ebay-only-based prices................

trust me bowwow i'm not afraid of anything if someone doesn't think my prices are fair then they should look elsewhere (yourself included) i know what i have into these and i'm not going to sell them for under that. i can mke this a public discussion all day i'm not afraid, but i thought this was a marketplace to sell things not to complain about people who you think over price things. if you can show me a place that has these ibooks lower price i will match that but i don't think you can so good luck and please post all day i check this forum usually one once a day but since you and osxpoing have to be an anus about people trying to sell things that makes me check even more often

You already established your point, and it is well known to all of us here at MacNN. Going beyond that is quite immature, as is thread crapping.

Don't bother starting a new thread, those of us who have bought and sold these older Macs before understand there are those that just don't understand the value of these laptops. Your prices are very competitive, and Ebay is just a reality some refuse to accept.

Note - Ebay has inflated prices, correct. He is selling below Ebay prices, correct. Others have been quite happy with the price and business relationship, correct. Thread crappers not happy about Ebay and the reality of life...Use PM's and leave the mans thread alone.

Good luck selling those Clammies! And if you have an extra feel free to send it my way

Like i said before, an excellent guy to deal with, and will most likely be purchasing some more iBooks from him when it is financially feisable for me, His prices are good very good, and if it wasnt with the help of him i still would have a half dead clamshell, But now i have a nice speedy little 466 clamshell with 320MB RAM/30GB HD and airport... best laptop ive owned... Leave this kid alone and let him do his buisness, its his stuff let him do it his way..

Hello. I read your post too late I fear. I am one of the idiots that tried to buy an ibook on ebay. Alas. Do you still have any? I want one for my daughter. I love the safari parental controls on my powerbook g4 10.4.7 (our first apple).
Thanks, megh

i gotta agree with da2005pizimp, osxpinot has a really bad habit of just crapping on people's threads. I know he did so with mine... anyway heads up to a good seller here: da2005pizimp
