My Powerbook G4 was stolen out of my Jeep the other day...I bought it from a guy that I don't know how to get ahold of....The insurance company wants me to come up with an owners manual or a picture of me holding it or something....I don't have the manual...and I certainly didnt take pics of myself with it....Can anyone help me?

You are asking us to commit fraud. What proof do we have that you ever owned the PowerBook?

I'm not sure how that's possible. Unless...you stole it out of his Jeep.

Right, but what proof do we have that you ever bought a PowerBook? You're asking us to help you get the insurance company to buy you a PowerBook, which is fraud if you never bought one. You have no peripherals, cables, box, nothing to show for it. You're just another guy on the internet who can post whatever he wants, and thats all we know right now.

No i dont have a box....Cables? what kind of apple sepcific cable would I possibly have? the power cord? yeah....stolen with the power book since i usually keep them together. You're right..i do have nothing to show for it...If I did I wouldn't be on here asking for a manual...would I? And what do you really care if I ever did have one? I mean I did...but what's it to you?

It was a Powerbook g4..12"...aluminum....I don't know the specifics...it was just a laptop to me...How many average people now much more than that?

Around this forum? Pretty much everyone.
And they know the specs of all the other computers they've owned in the past decade.

Anyway, I have a 12" powebook box and all the other things that came with it.
I don't want any money for it but I'll trade them to you for a bottle of 30 y/o Edradour Scotch.
Send me that and then I'll fedex the rest to you.

You want me to give you something that will result in you receiving a check for $1500 and in exchange you want to give me a $12 dollar bottle of swill?

Clearly the box is worth more to you than that.

That's Blackadder which is made in Edradour, not Edradour brand Scotch.
The difference and price between the two is also not the same. And "so co" is swill. It would take an entire gallon of the stuff to cost someone $30

Anyway no, I don't think its the only powerbook box out there. But clearly I am not the one who needs it so I don't have to worry about what someone else thinks is fair. You on the other hand only came to the forum to look for one, haven't found it, and need it for your rather suspicious claim.

Given that your need for it may be seen as questionable (c'mon who doesn't know what speed their laptop is) to some people you will have to pony up someone's asking price or go elsewhere.

I don't know what speed any computer I have ever owned is....neither do most of the people I asked recently.....You say that you know you aren't the only one with a box...Yet you still assume that I haven't gotten what I was looking for here....I have....It's already been mailed...You didn't help or hurt my situation....just acted like an asshole....thanks for nothing.....

Eh, this is locked for the time being.

ld1985 - if you can show me proof that you bought the PowerBook (which it doesn't look like you can do), then I'll re-open the thread. Otherwise, as others have said, you could be asking us to help you commit fraud.
