Just bought a G3 ibook off ebay for about $200.. it was suppose to be working.. well.. it isn't and the user has been kicked off ebay Looks like the logic board is fried, so I'm looking for a 600mhz (Or faster one that is plug and play?) for a reasonable price. The best way you will be able to get a hold of me is msn messenger, @ lazyapocalypse@hotmail.com otherwise post or send me a PM.

I just bought four incomplete 500's from welovemacs on ebay - they were $50 each and the logic boards all worked well. I know it's a step down, but it's also a cheap save.

The 500's won't work well on the 600 Mhz iBook, they are from a previous generation with a slower bus.

I have a G3 600MHz ibook for parts- stopped booting one day, meaning that it doesn't even start up when you press the power button. Was my parents machine, but now its been sitting in my closet. Basically everything is in there minus RAM, HDD, and combo drive. LMK if you want it for parts- I can go $100 shipped.

It still charges the battery when the AC adapter is connected and the battery is in place, so I'm assuming its not the mobo, but its up to you and selling as-is. BTW, battery and AC adapter not included.

Thanks, but that sounds symptomatic of other iBooks I've seen with dead logic boards, which is exactly what I'm trying to avoid acquiring

Agreed. However, $50 is a lot cheaper than $250. For $200 I can take a slower bus.
