I'm in the market right now for a Mac Pro and have about $2,200 that I can spend.
Using my student discount at the Apple Store I can get this:

Dual 2.0 Ghz Dual-Core Xeon
1 GB Ram
250 GB HD
X1900 XT

For $2,254.00

I'm simply looking for someone who has a better configuration than this, who is willing or looking to sell their (gently) used Mac Pro at about this price. There is one I'm looking at on eBay currently, but I'd rather buy from a member here!

I can count on one hand the number of MacPros I have seen for sale on mac forums. People seem to hold onto them pretty well...they must like them or something

Sadly... you don't meet many Mac Pro owners, and you meet almost no one looking to sell. I figured it was worth a try Many somone bought the quad 2 or 2.6 and is looking at the octo, or someone bought it and found they didn't need the power...
