Okay, let me start off by saying that I won't likely be buying this right away, unless a seller here would be willing to take a trade of a working PS2 (faceplate broken off the disc tray, but no other issues) with a few games and/or a working silver GBA SP as part of the payment (depending on how much the buyer wants, I'd also throw in money with them). Otherwise it would likely be a few weeks.

Anyways, I'm looking for a working, good condition G3 laptop. I have a Titanium Powerbook that works great at home, but the case is really beat up and it doesn't have a working battery currently, so I don't like to take it anywhere with me since I have to keep it constantly plugged in. I write fan fiction, and in the fall I'll be back to college, so I want a laptop that I can keep with me for writing and taking notes. I've seen some G3 Powerbooks on eBay for about $250 BIN, but I was hoping to maybe find something here for cheaper, since that usually seems to be the case. I've been burned before, however, so I have a list of things I'd need from this.

1. MUST have a decent working battery. Preferrably at least two hours on a full charge.
2. At least a 10 GB hard drive. I won't be storing video files on here, maybe a little bit of music, but definitely not as much as my Powerbook. 10 GB would allow me to have Mac OS on it while giving me extra space for my documents and some images.
3. I'd prefer to have 256 MB of RAM, though I might be willing to settle for less until I can upgrade it myself. As far as processor goes, my ideal range would be anywhere from 333 Mhz to 600 Mhz.
4. I'd be willing to settle for Mac OS 9, as I'd mostly be using it just for typing, but I wouldn't mind OS X (version doesn't really matter to me, as long as the laptop can handle it)
5. I'd prefer it to have no major case issues. The better shape it's in, the better.
6. Must include any and all OS discs.

Yeah, I can be a bit tough with some of the requirements, but I don't want something that I can't count on.

Doesn't matter to me what model it is.

If you have something for sale for a decent price, show me the specs, some pictures, and your price.

Thanks

Looks good, and definitely a good price. The damage to the case seems quite acceptable. I might be willing to overlook the lack of media. I'll wait a few more days and see what other options pop up and let you know. Sound good?

Sounds good. However, I just got an interest email from someone - this is also posted on the Low End Mac swaplist.

Well if they want it and can pay sooner, they can take it. I'm waiting to see if either some eBay auctions of mine end well or my former manager pays me back the money he owes me this week.

I have a 500mhz iBook with 10gb hard drive, DVD drive, AP, 384mb ram for sale. The case is a like scratch up but it still works great and holds a descent charge. Let me know if you are interested.

Bump. Two people have asked me about interest in their units without pictures or a price. I absolutely need both.

By the way, if you have something and you're willing to work out a payment plan of some sort, I'll probably be much more willing to make a deal with you.

Umm isn't your titanium a G4 and wouldn't it be cheaper for you just to buy a brand new battery and have at least 4-5 hours on your Ti?

The case is beat to hell. The lower portion of the bottom case is messed up (it's held on by the screws still but other than that, it's totally loose), the side of the lower case is quite cracked, and the latch is broken. In addition, it's had overheating problems lately. It's a pain in the ass to take places.
