I've got an extra clamshell that's nearly assembled. It's got a 300MHz board, 64MB onboard RAM, 6GB stock hard drive and blueberry plastics.
Things that are wrong:
- Top display plastic piece (with the big Apple logo) is cracked
- Trackpad bezel is cracked
- CD-ROM doesn't work
- No keyboard
- Janky handle - spring isn't wound, so it doesn't snap against the casing anymore
- Screws missing from various parts of the entire laptop
- Power button is janky - will pop off if you remove the trackpad bezel
Things that are right:
- Bottom plastic piece is in good shape
- Battery cover is in excellent shape
- Hard drive is good
- LCD and cables in excellent condition
- Logic board is good
- DC in-board is functioning and good
This would be a good buy for someone needing to fix up a clamshell, replace the motherboard, etc. I was going to track down a working CD-ROM and a keyboard for it, but at this point I've spent over $500 on my LCD upgrade project and don't need to spend money on anything else. If you have a keyboard and a CD-ROM in working condition for this, you could easily get $100 for it on eBay.
Since I can't boot off the CD drive, no OS is installed. The drive AFAIK is empty. I haven't even looked recently to see if it has anything on it - if it did, it wouldn't be important stuff.
I'm going to ask $40 shipped. Shipping is going to be relatively pricey on this, I think - it weighs 6.5lb with the battery (which holds no charge)...I'll also take trades.
Things I'd like: computer speakers (something that carries decent bass without a sub - any bass is better than none), the original packaging, disks, and manuals for a tangerine iBook, a 512MB stick of PC100 or 133 14-pin laptop RAM (to upgrade my tangerine iBook)...anything else you can think of, just make an offer.
I can post pics if anyone asks.
