I am selling my iBook G3/800mhz hoping to upgrade.

System Profile:
12" iBook G3 800mhz processor
640mb RAM
80gb Western Digital 5400rpm Hard Drive
Airport Wireless for 802.11b wireless connection
CD/DVD Combo Drive (Burn CD/CD-RW and play DVDs)
2x USB 1.1 connections
1 Firewire 400
ATI Rage Mobility w/ 32mb vram
VGA Adapter (to hook up to external monitor)
OS X Install Disks

This iBook is like any iBook G3 and is suffering from some video/logic board issues, but still works. Selling as-is. Asking $300 plus shipping.

khanselman,

Can you describe the video/logic board issues? I'm interested in the iBook, but relatively unfamiliar with the problem.

Thanks,

Certain G3 models (and some g4's) Had problems with the display board / gpucoming disconnected / loosing connection with the rest of the logic board. There are little pots of solder underneath the chip, and they can detach from one another if it gets hot or just because it wasn't put together well. It can be fixed (most of the time) you just have to heat the unit in the chip and sometimes it'll go back.
