Hello all,
I'm now selling my 2 year old iBook G4 1.33Ghz 12". It has been used mostly for writing papers, surfing the internet, taking notes, and some light gaming (I'm a student). It went to class with me every day

The specs are as follows
12" 1024*768 display
1.33Ghz G4
1GB DDR Ram
40GB Hard Drive
Radeon 9550 32MB
Combo Drive
Mac OS X 10.4

Anyway, although I took good care of it for most of it's life, I regret to say that the last six months or so have not been nice to it, and some problems have come up. First, although the logic board was replaced about four months ago (and is working fine), the LCD hinge will need to be replaced in the near future. This is the result of an unfortunate fall which happened when the power cord caught on a rolling chair and pulled the laptop off of my desk . Anyway, it's all still one piece, and does work, but the following problems have cropped up as a result.

1) The computer will no longer latch closed (although it will still sleep if in the closed position). Also the LCD assemply appears slightly off (I will post pictures)
2) you can no longer hold the laptop above you (with the LCD aiming down) as the hinge will not support the weight and the screen will close)
4) Although this seems to have disappeared in the last few weeks, the screen was intermediately dimming to 0 brightness (no backlighting), although this would disappear if the mini DVI-VGA connector was plugged in (and could then be unplugged). Also this would occasionally cause the machine to become unresponsive and require a restart (this seemed to be related to the power cable being moved around in the DC In socket). I believe this was/is either related to the inverter part of the backlight (and or it's cables), or the DC in board inside the machine, both of which are user replaceable without replacing the LCD or logic board.

The machine could also use a new battery (it only lasts like 1 hour absolute max).

Anyway, while it has some issues, these can be relatively cheaply fixed if you're willing to buy and install the parts yourself. Also, while it's not great, it works just fine as is as long as you are willing to be careful and treat it gently.

I will ship the computer in the original box and packaging with the OS CD's, and Power Adaptor (just replaced and in good condition). The box has had the UPC cut out for a rebate.

My asking price is $300 + shipping.
I have decided on this price based on the fact that iBooks with a warrenty and in good condition tend to fetch around $500 on ebay, while machines sold for "parts" (usually with the LCD or logic board broken) go for around $200.
I'm selling this because I am heading to Japan in a few weeks for study abroad and don't have the time or interest to fix it (I went ahead and purchased a new Macbook).
Thanks for your interest!
