Purchase a DMA MacBook Pro or iMac : Digital Media Academy STORE

My work is selling off all of their equipment at cost. They're lightly used, purchased in June for our summer program. We have about 50 iMacs and 30 MacBook Pros, which will be shipped in original packaging. All computers include the full 3-year AppleCare and a free iPod shuffle. Here are the specs:

20" iMac:
$1359.00 + tax & $30 shipping
2.33 GHz Core 2 Duo CPU
256 MB Radeon x1600
2 GB RAM
250 GB HDD

15" MacBook Pro:
$2067.00 + tax & $30 shipping
2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo CPU
Matte screen
256 MB nVidia 8600M GT
2 GB RAM
160 GB HDD

If you have any question, take a glance at the FAQ or feel free to email me: rfinn AT digitalmediaacademy DOT org

Had a question about the seemingly randomness of the iPod shuffle. Normally, it would be a nano since we are an educational program, however, since we're selling our stuff to the general public at the end of our program, our reseller wouldn't allow us to have the nanos. So, they gave us shuffles to include with the computers instead.

Price changed to base price, since tax will vary from your state.

FAQ

Q: $610.00 savings. That's better than student pricing. Seems fishy...
A: Bulk discount. DMA (Digital Media Academy) negotiated a discount with our reseller (Stanford University Bookstore) on top of the normal educational discount due to the quantity of computers we were ordering (30 MacBook Pros and 50 iMacs). Since we're now selling at cost back to DMA attendees (they had first dibbs) and now the general public, you get to purchase it at cost as well.

Q: What's with the free iPod shuffle? Seems so random.
A: Normally, it would be an iPod Nano since we are an educational program, however, since we're selling our stuff to the general public at the end of our program, our reseller wouldn't allow us to have the free Nanos normally offered to students and faculty. So, they gave us shuffles to include with the computers instead.

Q: Can I pick what color Shuffle I get?
A: Yeah, just forgot to put the check boxes for it on the order form -- we'll be fixing that soon. If you email "info AT digitalmediaacademy DOT org" with the subject "iPod Shuffle Color Choice," a copy of your receipt, and your top two color picks, we'll take note what color you want. Since we only have limited quantity of each color, we'll try and get you one near the top of your color list.

Q: Does the the laptop/iMac include AppleCare?
A: Yes. The computers' price includes the full 3-year AppleCare extended warranty.

Q: What software does the laptop/iMac come with?
A: They come with OS X 10.4 and the default bundled software.

Q: How long was the laptop/iMac used?
A: They were used during our summer session, from 25 June through 24 August.

Q: I happen to be in the area, can I pick up the computer in person?
A: Sure can. Our main office is located at:

1925 Winchester Blvd. St. 109
Santa Clara, CA 95008

We start shipping on 27 August, so contact us if you wish to pick yours up in person.

Q: Can I phone in the order? I don't feel comfortable putting my credit card info out on the internet.
A: Of course! You can call our main office at 1-866-656-3342

Q: What is the Digital Media Academy, anyway?
A: DMA is a summer computer camp for educators, adults, teens, and kids with programs located at Stanford University, University of Texas, UC San Diego, Princeton, and other prestigious locations. For more information about our programs, please visit our web site.

iMac price has just been lowered. New price reflected above, not including tax since tax will vary depending on your state.
