? Just buy a new one. You'll have to end up paying the $99 subscription price for a used one anyway.

If you buy .Mac in the box, it's just an activation code, right?

So I could buy the .Mac 4.0 for $79 on amazon instead of .Mac 5.0 for $95?

Yes. People were mentioning this little tidbit on MacRumors...it's just a code.
