Here's the deal:

I bought this camcorder on Black Friday last November. I've used it very, very rarely since then. I went to turn it on a few weeks ago, and it makes a high-pitching whining noise when a Mini-DV tape is installed. Samsung quoted me $88 in labor for the repair - it's under parts warranty until November 26. I could probably find a way to fix it, but I don't have the time or the desire to spend money on something I rarely use - I'd rather invest in more mods for my iBook.

I paid $130 for it; it's apparently worth around $75 on eBay. I'd like to get maybe $65 shipped for it. I'll include a nice Case Logic camcorder bag, the AC adapter, an old-style (clear plastics) Apple firewire cable (4-pin to 6-pin), and four Mini-DV cassette tapes. I still have all the original packaging and software discs, and I'll even throw in a video/movie editing application I got for free after rebates (Windows only, of course) if you want that, too.

I'll also take trade offers on this one. I still need the shipping boxes and packaging for a tangerine/blueberry iBook. If there's something you want to get rid of that's worth around $65, just ask and I'll see if I want it. Offhand, I'd be willing to trade for...
  • 512MB PC100/133 144-Pin SO-DIMM SDRAM (compatible with all G3 iBooks)
  • 4GB or 6GB second gen iPod Mini (blue, green, or pink) - you don't even need to include any accessories (I have a TON of cables and adapters and docks now); just the mini and the belt clip
  • 40GB or larger 2.5" IDE laptop hard drive
  • Multiple DVD box sets for...Seinfeld, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Family Guy (just throwing that out there...)
  • Wii accessories (Wiimotes, classic controllers, games)
  • Any other laptop accessory you can think of, I'll probably take.
The camera is in really excellent condition - no scratches or smudges on the lense, all the parts are still there, the hand strap isn't worn at all, and there's really only a few superficial surface marks on the outside of the flip-out LCD (not the screen itself). Like I said, I barely used this thing, so it's like new in almost every aspect.

I'll post pictures this evening if anyone expresses interest in taking this thing off my hands.

Full specs from Samsung can be found here.

Post here, catch me on AIM via shifuimam (I'm online pretty much nonstop) or email me via gmail (which is, amazingly enough, also shifuimam) if you're interested.

Bump #1...

I cycled the battery and it works fine now. You can jury-rig it to stop the buzzing, so it's not like the thing is unusable...
