The price seems a little high, given that my [$800] Intel iMac is more powerful in every way. I don't know if there is something special about G5s that makes them more expensive fro resale, but that's just my $0.02

Also, do you have pics?

The G5 is a much more powerful unit (mainly used by professionals for video production) with lots of room for expansion. The imac is definitely a great machine, but is limited on memory and hard drive(s). If you check out ebay just the G5 without monitor, bluetooth keyboard are running in the $1,500-1,600 range.

To see pictures, click on "For Sale Power Mac..." to the right of the price and "Check out pictures"

Thanks for your input.

I have to agree with stonepacific on this one. Your iMac is great... but:

1. It's limited to 2GB of RAM (G5 can do 8)

2. Has just one internal HD that's not easily removable (G5 has two removable drives. more with 3rd party brackets)

3. Limited to the video card it came with (G5 video is upgradeable)

4. Has built-in non-changeable display with only one more for expansion (G5 can do multiple displays at larger sizes, and can do more than 2 displays with multiple video cards)

5. Doesn't have expansion slots (G5 has multiple for different purposes.

there's more... but... you get the picture..

let me just add this...

I don't mean to say the iMac isn't the best computer for you... or for many purposes. I own an iMac myself. It's just that you can't compare them blindly and just say one is better than the other... it depends on the user and what they need...

I know thats' true, I'm just saying that at its curent stage, an intel machine is better. It all depends how much you vue the expandability. I don't much (except for wishing my RAM ceiling wasn't so low...), but I know that many do.
