What's the price for an internal HD for a G4 (about 10-20 gigs) these days? I think mine is broken since in the benchmark read-tests it drops below the LCII !!!! Write-tests seem to be fine though.

I just bought a 30 WD Hard Drive for 99.00 at Office Depot last sunday. I went right after church - they open at 10:00AM and I arrived there at 12:15PM and they only had 2 left. The salesman told me that 2 guys were there when they opened and bought all but the last 2. Had I waited any longer I would have missed out. I had been looking for a month (every sunday morning in the paper) and that price was by far the best. I have a G4 like you and the hard drive is a snap to install.

There's a link to a review of new ATA/100s on Tom's Hardware I found while on StorageReview.com that are quieter and faster than the venerable Deskstar 75GXP that has led the pack. The new IBM drive wasn't available for testing. Fujitsui offers 500Mbps and has fluid bearings, also lower temp than any of the others. 20GB starts at $109 at Computers4Sure.com
