According to roman numerals.. V = five (5), X = ten (10) .. Numbers are put in sequence, if lower numbers are to the left of higher numbers, its to subtract. Therefore a Palm VX is actually just a Palm 5 ?

Actually it's the Palm Vx (the V and Vx were two different models, the V with 2MB RAM and the Vx with extras like 8 MB RAM, a little faster processor). The x really has nothing to do with the roman numeral naming scheme. It's just the Palm "five, exx" Go figure.
