Momma always told me, "son, if it weren't for bad luck, you'd have no luck at all." Oh, truer words seem to have never been spoken. So our home got broken into Saturday night and all of our computer equipment seems to have somehow disappeared. Of course my initial reaction was, 'hey this is why we pay that ridiculous amount for homeowners insurance'. That was until I realized we have a $2500 deductible and one of the computers stolen was a friend's brand new Toshiba itty-bitty expensive thing they had me setting up for them, and that of course had to be replaced post-haste. I'm out the cash for that and then the deductible, which sucks of course.

My first goal is to find a new laptop for my wife as she can't really book gigs, maintain her site or much else without it. She had a black MacBook C2D. I'd like to replace it with another black MacBook (she's got some crazy thing about the color). Anyway, here's the items I need to replace at some point that maybe somebody's selling:

- FOUND Black Macbook. Any config is good, Core 2 Duo would be awesome FOUND
- A Novatel U727 USB modem for Sprint
- Santa Rosa Macbook (any color) to replace my Macbook Pro

If anybody has a black Macbook that they're thinking of getting rid of, please PM or email me. The insurance company is going to bend me over and take certain liberties with me on depreciation if I don't just get the stuff replaced before they're ready to settle the claim (so says my very helpful and genuinely nice adjuster Frank).

Keep in mind I'm a teacher and my wife is an artist (read not a whole lot of money here).

Some of you may remember me around here as the poor sap that hunted down a useless SOB doing massive cashier's check COD fraud a few years ago and gained a completely unexpected 15 minutes of fame. I know I've helped some of the community since then track down their own evildoers, so maybe someone can throw me a bone?

Wow, I am really sorry to hear that. I don't have a black MacBook or another MacBook to give, but I'm sure someone will, there are a few for sale here that are pretty cheap, one of the mods sold on for like $500 very recently. Let us know what some of that other stuff is, maybe I can help

Edit: I sort of know how you feel too, my car was broken into Wednesday and my stereo and amp and sub and ancient PowerBook was stolen.
