Apple Prototype Set Top Box

This is a prototype set top box device made by Apple Computer. It never made it past the testing phase and is quite rare as it was never sold to consumers. This particular setup is a bit more rare as it also includes the original owners manual. Other items included in the package are a SCSI adaptor, power cable, video A/B switch and composite video cable. I'm also inlcuding a matching black Apple Design Keyboard and ADB Mouse II with it. These too are rare due to the color as they were only included with an international version of the Performa 5xxx series. The only thing I don't have is the remote control and I have never seen one with one of these for some reason. During testing they used an interactive online sevice which no longer exists so I don't know if it can be made into a fully functional computer using an external hard drive. I have never tried to do this myself but there is a website you can visit by clicking here that has more information about this device and even some software for it. You can also click here to visit yet another page about this device which also features two downloadable PDF files that go into great detail. There are many ports on this device including Ethernet, SCSI (HDI-30 pin), ADB, SCART TV and VCR, RF (cable) in and out, S-Video, Composite Video, RCA audio (left and right) and IR. The processor is a 68LC040 running at 33Mhz and the logicboard is similar to the LC475/Quadra605 type with 4MB of memory onboard. This would have made a great product if it had been released or at least fared better than the Pippin which was developed under a different project. This makes for a great Apple Computer collectible. Don't miss out! The Bidding starts at just $9.95 with no reserve. I will ship to the US and Canada. Please email me if you have any questions. Thanks and good luck!
