hmmm..illegal software..how nice...
Let me guess too..you're going to say its for "evaluation purposes only"
It's still illegal. I think MacNN should delete posts with illegal software.

Is it a 400-megahertz Pismo or a 500-megahertz Pismo?

I disagree about deleting posts with illegal software. I have used software left on the hard drive of a PowerBook I bought for exactly that. Although "evaluation purposes" is always accompanied by a *wink*, I have found it a great way to decide what to buy. Without the disk you can't upgrade so you're stuck with that version. These things change too quickly for the software to be current for more than, say, 6 months. Based on on old FileMaker 4 I bought FM5 and I went from an old Retrospect to buying v.4.3. Perhaps I'm in the minority here. I also pay all shareware fees (Ca$h groans).

I like being able to check out the performance of a used computer in normal everyday situations before the escrow inspection period is up. It takes up to 2 days to install my software when I bought a new machine only to find out that the modem on a wallstreet PB I was buying was bad. If it didn't alrady have software installed, I would have probally not known it was defective until it was too late!

It seems to me "romeosc" has been buying powerbooks here and on eBay at low prices (sellers willing of course)
then reselling them at a mark-up later through the same venue.
It's just my guess, because s/he has powerbooks up for sale from time to time.

Yes, we buy & sell all Powerbooks, from PB100s to G4Ti. We run them through service dept & clean them up. Some are profitable, some are not. (i still have an inventory of duos !). Everyone we deal with have been happy.
