Hey all.

I was just wondering if any of you could tell me what my iBook is worth, either in sale, or in trade;

iBook 500
DVD
640MB's of Apple RAM
30GB IBM TravelStar Hard Drive.
All original disks.
And AppleCare through May 25th, 2004.

There is some cosmetic damage;

My cats got a hold of the iBook when I had to run down stairs for a minute, the result;

Two 1/2 inch scratches in the LCD in the bottom left corner, visible.
A chewed up mouse button.
A very visible blemish on the right palm rest.

Other than these flaws, the machine is in good condition, no dead pixels.

So, what do you think?

And BTW;

The HD and RAM came to a total of $1,000 (I have recipts), and I just called Apple to ask if they were covered under AppleCare, they said yes since they were purchased from and installed by an Apple service center.

My advice is to sell it on eBay. They bid like crazy fools there and continually pay more for a Mac than it is worth.

Good luck selling it. I'd love to have one myself, but won't insult you with a price offer of half what it is worth.

I considered eBay, but I wanted to try to avoid it. Plus, I am not positive that I want to get rid of her yet. I have been salivating over the thought of a nice PowerMac G4 sitting on my desk, figured I would be able to trade this for a Quicksilver, or a nice Digital Audio G4. Would prefer a sale of couse though...

If any of you have any reasonable offers, let me know and I'll consider.
