I have a Wallstreet PowerBook (250 MHz, 160 MB RAM, 4 GB HD, 13.3" display)...

I was wondering: what would this machine go for? For those who aren't aware, this was among the first true G3 PowerBooks that Apple introduced and it has an 83 MHz bus, but Apple couldn't ship them in quantity, so they switched back to 66 MHz. This machine has 1 MB of backside cache that runs @ 125 MHz (unlike the 512 kb that the replacements had). This machine still kicks the ass out of some of the newer iMacs...

I have the original box, manuals, Floppy drive, battery, 24x CD drive, AC adapter, os 9, even an apple adb mouse! The thing's in perfect condition.

Once again, I'm just curious. Tell me what you think!

Judging by recent prices on eBay, I'd say you would get between $800 and $1100, depending on the breaks. Throw in extras (eBay bidders love to get extras) and catch someone who really wants one of your model, you might do even better. Unfortunately for WallStreet owners like you and I (292MHz, 83MHz bus) our models are about to drop another notch in price. Mercury is coming and everything before it will depreciate more.

Personally I don't care. I'm going to be burried with my WallStreet. It was my first of many Macs and basicly taught me how to use it. This marked my conversion from the dark side into the light. Please excuse me if I get a little misty-eyed. I just love it so!

I got such a good deal when I bought it and have had so much trouble-free usage I don't dare part with it. I never went for Lombard or Pismo. In fact I bought a second WallStreet. The speed bumps in processors was never enough to make me jump, especially when you consider the faster system bus we enjoy, plus none of my peripherals would be compatable. For my modest needs the WallStreet is just perfect. And so stable! None of the issues with USB the others suffered through. If I want USB I can add it with a card.

Mercury on the other hand may be worth jumping on. If you don't treat yourself right, who will? I see one in my future, but not at the expense of my WallStreet. That's a keeper.

Hmm...I wonder what extras I could include...

A FireWire 2 Go PC Card?
36-pin SCSI to 25-pin SCSI connector?
A Kensington Saddle Carrying Case?
A Cool Mouse pad?
Perhaps the collection of CDs that came with my iMac?
UMAX S-12 SCSI Scanner I'll no longer be able to use?

How's that list for extra's? With that, what are some offers I might get?

Just wondering, for I, too, hate to part with such a wonderful machine that I have given such wonderful life...
