My company has some peripherals (21" monitors, printers, etc.) that do not work and for which repair would cost almost as much as (or more than) buying a replacement.

Are there any places that buy things like this to recondition them, or strip for parts, or whatever? Or am I better off just tossing them out? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Check with your local high school, college or vocational school. I had some outdated equipment (it still worked though) and donated it to the high school in my city and they were happy to get the stuff. You should be able to atleast get a receipt as a cheritable donation.

try your local computer store with a service department. They may pay a small price for them or at least take them off your hands. They can use casings, power supplies and stuff like that.

Many cities have "computer recycling" places that sell obsolete hardware (or at least dispose of it). Check your phone book.

List them on Ebay. People gobble up stuff there that is considered junk all the time. Not a bad way to make a few bucks either.
Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
