Here's the specs:

PowerBook Firewire
500 Mhz G3
12 Gig hard drive
1 Gig RAM
128mb apple ram
Airport card installed
Airport Base station
All original boxes, cd's manuals for everything
OS9, OSX, restore, Dev cd's
Many progs (you must delete)
No dead/stuck pixels
Mint condition
Gets iKlear-ed every weekend
Purchased November 28, 2000
APPLECARE just purchased and registed- good till Nov 28, 2003

I'm thinking of charging $800 more than a usual run of the mill PB500 I've seen on ebay since I just got apple care ($300) plus i'm including airport+basestation ($400) the extra gig of ram ($200) + OSX ($130)..

I'd like to get some opinions and try to sell here and locally and resort to ebay last. I can put up pics if needed.

What do you think?

you're kidding, right?
http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI...tem=1297856962

that sold 2 days ago is only 400 mhz, 1/4 the ram, no airport, no base station, no applecare and 1/2 the hard drive.. that's more than $1000 retail worth of stuff plus the extra 100 mhz. gimmie a break here!

when you *need*:
-a bigger screen
-a PC CARD slot
-the ability to use more than battery at one time
-the ability to use more than 1 hard drive at a time
-the ability to drive more than 1 desktop at a time.
-more ram because you're doing things other than browsing the web or stealing term papers

the ibook not for professionals. the powerbook line is for professionals.

get it straight.

now who's stupid?

and what's with people posting anonymously when they don't have the balls to put their name next to their comments? geez..

Well despite all the extras you have, the 1300-1600 doallar estimate seems about right. For one, the apple care is a throwaway cause MOST people don't buy it. Because of that you can't expect MOST people to value it. When you bundle it all together some of it becomes throwaway stuff. Airport is kinda the same but not as much because it IS at least tangible. OSX is a throwaway too. You get it FREE with a new computer and all the OSX 10.1 upgrade CDs are actually full installs for 19.99. The RAM is valuable though but not enough to warrant what you want for it. Especially with the costs of new ibooks with 100mhz bus and how cheap ram is now. You whole "PB are for pros" arguments is not really valid anymore either cause the tibook honestly doesn't have much more to offer than a TOL ibook other than being a status symbol. You just have to be realistic here, computers depreciate fast.

That's my $0.02
Powerbook G4 1.5Ghz
1Gig RAM, 128Meg VRAM
Tiger 10.4
