The filter at my school blocks out www.ebay and pages.ebay and search.ebay, but not cgi1.ebay, which is what the auctions use.
It's kind of a backdoor into eBay.

1. it's only for windows
2. our filter is hardware-based
3. the web site even says it doesn't work on school filters.
