1) Place your OfficeMax.com order through <a href="http://www.ebates.com/index.jhtml?referrer=MacNN">eBates.com</a> (in office section) and receive a 4% rebate.
2) From the main OfficeMax.com web site, scroll down to the middle bottom to see the Acer 320U scanner.
3) All orders of $50 or more receive FREE shipping.
4) We're assuming the $30 mail-in rebate is included with the scanner?
Unless you can find it in their <a href="http://www.officemax.com/FreeDelivery/rebates.html">MaxRebates</a> section,
Acer's <a href="http://www.acerperipherals.com/promotion/rebate.html">rebate page</a> only mentions a $20 rebate instead of $30.
5) Are you curious to learn more about this scanner and to read some reviews?

Hi,
I went direct to OfficeMax site and ordered this, cause I didn't much care to save the additional 4%. After I ordered on the page that is like the receipt it says the scanner is back-ordered! No idea how long it will take to get now!

I just went ahead and ordered a scanner, and I guess I wanted to clarify a couple of points about the rebates. I couldn't find anything for the $20 "Instant rebate", because that's already included in the price on the site (normal list price = $79.99?). In order to get the additional $30 rebate, bringing the price down to $29.99, you can go to the <A href="http://www.officemax.com/FreeDelivery/rebates.html">MaxRebates</A> page, click on the redemption form, and print that out (looks crappy). If you look down towards the bottom of that page, at "Tally Sheets", clicking on (1-15) will show that rebate offer #2 (of 92) corresponds to the scanner, and is the number you should write on your receipt.
BTW, the rebate from the Acer page expired on 2/29. Even if it hadn't, both rebates would require the original UPC code, so you would have had to make a choice anyhow.
Cheers,
Dave

I just got back from my local OfficeMax with my new Acer 320U scanner. They had the same deal, 59.95 with $30 rebate by mail. Of course, I had to pay sales tax.
First impressions? Not bad for a $34 scanner. The software is good, and way better than Umax's Vistascan.
you should note though: the box says "PC only", but it comes bundled with a hybrid CD for the drivers and a hybrid Kai's Photo Soap 2 SE CD. There is also a Photo Express CD, but it's Windoze only.
The First thing I did after I got it set up was to remove the "Get Ready for Win98" sticker and apply it to my new G4.
If you need a decent cheap scanner, jump on this one. Be sure to ask for a rebate form, since they were well hidden at my local OfficeMax.
drivers are available here: http://www.acerperipherals.com/drive...g_drivers.html
