Hey WetSponge,

This is merely anecdotal, but I received two consecutive defective 128 ram modules for an iMac 333 from Coast. What bothered me was it took them 2 1/2 weeks to send the replacement (they told me 3-5 days), and they did not respond to any of my e-mails asking about the delay.

You would figure that after sending off one defective module, they would make pretty sure the second one worked. But it didn't. So I returned it, paying for postage and insurance myself. It took me 2 months to get my card credited, and several e-mails and phone calls to get the shipping costs reimbursed.

Also, their packaging seemed weak- just some bubble wrap, unsealed. I ended up paying about $10 more at MacSolutions, and the ram worked fine. It was packed in a sealed plastic manufacturer's bag, and labeled.

I don't usually rip a company for one bad experience, but they really annoyed me. Perhaps they've improved; this happened last November.

I also got shafted from this coast to coast. They claimed that the 128mb memory could take prority mail up to 10 days to deliver. After two weeks I still had no memory and they kept insisting it was in the mail. I canceled the order but they have yet to credit my account. My credit card company said that they would take care of the situation. As you can see I highly suggest that you stay away form coast to coast.

I finally bought my memory from memory to go after carefully watching memory prices at ramseeker.com. This company delivered on time and there products have lifetime guarantee. By the way their prices are pretty good.

From past personal experiences I would first recommend using PriceWatch to check/compare RAM prices.

Online merchants I would recommend:
Crucial.com (high quality Micron RAM)
Competitive prices.
Lists almost every Apple system known to mankind.
Shipping starting at $5 (unlike those other places which charge $20 and higher).
