I'm looking for a couple of AirPort Base Stations that don't work (and of course are out of warranty--why would you give me one that you can have Apple replace?)

I need something to help demonstrate how to handle, hook up, etc. the ABS for a small class, but I'd rather not use one that works; students have a habit of making working items "not work." ;-)

I would prefer the entire unit (power supply, mounting base, packaging if you have it), but any physically intact item will do for most of the class.

Thanks,
Glenn

As per discussions on this forum, they can be repaired witha 50 cent resistor. Link shows how.

romeosc, I think you forgot the link...

I had no idea that there was a resistor fix for a common problem; the problem I had heard of involved replacing the two capacitors in the power supply-a much more significant issue than replacing a resistor, particularly if the circuit board is multi-layered.

Anyway, if anyone has an ABS that doesn't work and wants to get rid of it, I still need a demonstrator or two for my class. I would, of course, pay for shipping.

Glenn
