how do you figure that your ibook cost you over $3000?
all that pirated software doesn't count, and it sure doesn't count to increase the price of the computer, considering you're not giving away the cds, manuals, etc. etc...
all together the computer cost you about 1500, not 3000.
if you get more than $1100, consider yourself very lucky.

Mike One-
For your information, I bought my own software, and since I am just a high school student, I could qualify to purchase all of my applications at education prices. Hence, (I hope you can add) the total amount that I spent was over $3000 (with the iBook costing $1592 with the RAM upgrade).
Here is a lovely quote for you:
"I am sitting in the smallest room in my house, your [post] is before me, and soon it shall be behind me."
Have a nice day.

So what, unless you give the guy who buys the book the original cds ect. Its still is just an ibook. Plus 1,4000 is more expensive then buying the NEW iBook model that is 500mghz.
Don't try to rip people off.

what made the price over $3000? The software is all included with the 1400 price, and "evaluation" stuff is free, so i dont know what you're tryin to pull, but i think its bull $hi+......

NEVER MIND! I decided trying to sell this here is quite futile. Also, just for clarification, I BOUGHT THE FULL SOFTWARE PACKAGES, HOWEVER, FOR ANYONE WHO WANTED TO BUY THIS COMPUTER, THE INSTALLATION DISKS WOULD NOT BE INCLUDED, THUS THE SERIAL NUMBERS WOULD STILL BE MINE. HENCE THE "EVALUATION" STATUS. I WOULD HAVE INSTALLED EVERYTHING WITH THE NAME "ibook buyer" INSTEAD OF MY OWN. NONETHELESS BECAUSE OF COPYRIGHT LAWS, THESE WOULD HAVE TO BE DELETED IF YOU DID NOT OWN YOUR OWN LICENSES.
I am quite appalled at the obstinance of the replies in this forum. For shame, you people who do not read thoroughly or perhaps your comprehension is such that you are unable to fully grasp what you are reading: go back to school! I am a high school student, planning to matriculate at a $32,000+ institution. Throughout my high school career, I have done intensive graphic and computer work, thus dictating a need for my own software and computer. (Mobility with this laptop was essential when it was purchased.) I bought everything with my own money, and so I thought that I was asking a fair price. Apparently, you who have posted believe otherwise. You are entitled to your own beliefs and opinions, but show more restraint in expressing them. I would have been content if there were no replies, but this outpouring of hostility was quite unexpected. How discouraging.

macadvocate: I think the above posts are just trying to say that as you are not including the CDs/manuals, the value of the software is nil (or close to nil, depending on who is buying it). No one is disputing that you own the software or that you paid for it; but to factor in the software that you paid for as part of the total cost to you, and then not including the license (i.e. selling that software), is unfair/misleading, as the would-be buyer is not technically getting that software.
What you're really selling is a 366 MHz iBook. As others have pointed out, the new 500 MHz iBook sells for $1,299 with identical or better specs in every department except for RAM. Your iBook is worth no more than $1,000, in my opinion. Now whether the potential buyer wishes to factor the software into the equation as raising the value is up to them--but don't expect to get more than $1,000.

Sorry for the double useless post, I though I had a refurb iBook to compare to, then realized the specs were different... ah, whatever.
If you're going to sell it, go with eBay. Lots of suckers there.
