Is anyone willing to part with a g3 (box or imac) for under 400 dollars. I want to use it as a server running OS X server when it comes out. Can anyone sell me one for under 400. I'll pay the shipping

Okay,
Here's the best way to get a G3 for $400 or less:
1) Buy a Power Mac 61xx ($50-$100)
2) Buy a NewerTech Nubus G3 upgrade card ($200)
3) Buy 2 64mb SIMMs from velocityupgrades.com ($80)
Voila! - A G3/136MB for just $330-380

apparently, you don't know what you're talking about.
Mac OS X will only run on a native G3. It is not compatible with upgrade cards and is not guaranteed to work with under a G3, but i've heard someone say they got it to work on a 9600...
seriously, check out eBay. There are iMacs going for way under $400. I really encourage to check the place out.

irresponsible too.

How rude you are.
Nontheless....
1. Several processor card manufacturers have pledged OS X compatibility
2. You contradict yourself completely in your post
I was just trying to help, anyway

The x1xx series of PowerMacs will probably never run OS X (even if they are upgraded to a G3) since they are lacking PCI.
Sorry.
I feel your pain. I have a G3'ed 6150 that I would just love to run OS X on.

Why don't you simply rent out some rooms in your house, and buy a 733 G4? I believe that OSX runs on those
