One thing I regret is not buying a Powerbook G3 right before they disappeared for good and replaced by those flimsy titanium things Apple tries to call Powerbooks! Does anybody know where I can get a new one or at least a used one in pretty good condition?

Thanks.

wrong forum, might have more luck in the Powerbook or Buy/Sell forum

btw, having used Lombards, Pismos & Ti's on the road, I don't think the new Ti's are much more flimsy...

I've got a Pismo with a bad display. It boots up fine and is usable with an external monitor. Obviously, the LCD can be replaced. It's the 400 MHz model. Post here if you're interested.

I've got a 500mhz Pismo.

With 512mb RAM
20gb HD
extra battery

What are these worth now a days?

BTW it works flawlessly, not a scratch and the screen is bright, very bright![/LIST]

I'd give you $800 for it.
Yeah, about those TPS reports, didn't you get the memo?

and I'd let you keep your $800 - I'd laugh.

I've got the same Pismo 500mhz, 512mb RAM, spare battery, zapped DVD, but I put in a 30 gig HD. 2 years left on the Applecare. I *could* sell it and upgrade to a g4 but what's the point. The Ti's suck ass compared to the Pismo (except for the obvious larger screen and g4 chip). They should have kept in the same vein as the pismo - much more robust, it has EXPANSION BAYS, etc. And why dump a f/w port? lots of people have >1 f/w device.

Anyway - its worth more than $800.

I never said that it wasn't. I merely made an offer. If you find that offensive in some way, keep it to a private message instead of spewing into the thread. Thanks...

$800?

Try $1000. Either way, I know once I sell (if I do) this Pismo, I'm going to regret it big time.

I'll pass it down perhaps to someone in the family instead.

No I don't find it offensive. Where did I sound offended? I'm saying that someone with a pismo with the above specs shouldn't (IMO) accept $800 for it. What would be the point of a private message? Surely YOUR post complaining about mine is the sort of thing that should be in a private message rather than in the thread.

Geez, if I ever wanted to sell my Pismo it sure wouldn't be hard to find buyers. Like other Pismo owners though, I'm reluctant to part with it. I like the black plastic casing.

I'm looking for a cool Pismo 500 owner who would be willing to swap CPU's (I have a Pismo 400). I would, of course, be willing to supply cash for the deal. If you have a Pismo 500 that you don't use very much, or are looking to sell, please consider putting some cash in your pocket, while helping out a college student. If you are interested please email me at:
