Hello everyone,

Figured I'd post this in case anyone is looking to sell these particular items. My wife would like a few accessories for her iBook. First she'd like a floppy disk reader. She'll probably use it once every 6 months, but she is tired of having to find a computer with floppy drive every time she needs to access a floppy disk. Also, she'd like a digital camera. It doesn't need to be the power user type. Something that is just over 1 megapixel should be fine.

Email me at lwalker@mac.com if you have something to sell me.

Thanks,

Lanny

Nothing to sell but maybe a product to recommend. I just bought the Microtech SmartFDD at J&R ComputerWorld in NYC for $99. If you're running OS 9 you need to install NOTHING to use it. Just plug it in to a USB port and you're in business.

Once you have the floppy drive you might want to consider one of the Sony Mavica digital cameras that use a floppy for film. The FD-88 is only 1.3 mega-pixels but picture quallity is outstanding. I've got one and love it for ease of use. Plus, if you plan to send any of the pictures as email attachments you really don't want the 3MB file size you get with a 2.3 mega-pixel camera. The big- and it's real big- drawback to these cameras is the price. For the FD-88 you can expect to shell out somewhere north of $600 ! I got mine as a gift. I never woukd have even looked at it if I saw the price/mega-pixel ratio compared to what else is out there. But the quallity is outstanding, and you can't beat the convenience of floppys for film.
