I wasn't going to bother logging in at all, but I just love it when people come in here treating this like their own personal show room. You want FREE advertising? Then you're going to damn well play the "I'll give you 200 for it" game if I want too. So there.
I hope you're talking Canadian dollars? Cause if you aren't that's nearly 1400 Canadian. And it's a tad too much.
One year of Apple care is a wash. That's what you'd get on a new machine anyway. HDD's are outdated and small, so anyone buying had better think of dropping another 100-200 bucks on a hard-drive. The RAM is nicely topped-up, though. ZIP is dead (or soon should be) and you'll want a modern way of backing-up/saving files: a CD burner, which this machine doesn't have. Thus, figure on spending another 100-200 on a reasonable CD-writer.
So there you have it, potential buyers, 900 USD, plus another 200-400 dollars in HDD and CDrw (if you get an internal, MORE if external). And you still need to add a monitor.
You're still stuck with a slow G4, and a slower video card.
Now a trip to our favorite Apple Reseller (Apple.com) for a comparo.
PowerMacG4 800 (twice as fast G4, and video card) Built in CDrw. 40GB HDD. less RAM, but faster 133Mhz speed, and improved MoBo. 1 year Apple care. 1600USD
or,
you can pay 900 plus approx 300 (in neccessary upgrades) for a G4 that will only ever be half as fast, and whose warranty you won't be able to extend past '03. If you were thinking of upgrading the video card or G4, then just go with the new machine as it already comes with significant upgrades in these depts.
Or, despite the price bump, you could go with a CDrw iMac which still bests this machines spec and bag a very nice 15" LCD in the process. Only 1399.
Or you could visit the education store for some sweet QS 733 deals. 1199. Save 200 and only lose a half clock over the 800. Still way faster than G4 400.
You should always exhaust all your options to buy new before looking into a used machine.
900 = too much for an out-dated machine.

The G4 400 is NOT an outdated machine. I just sold mine on ebay for $880. Not everyone likes the quicksilver models as they are loud, have plastic mold lines, and has no way to unstick a stuck CD from the tray.
The G4 400 is plenty fast if you have enough RAM in it and a CD burner isn't as useful as it used to be without Napster.
Further, some people just don't want to get ripped off paying $1600 for a tower that should cost $999. For some saving that money on a used machine means they can now afford a monitor to go with it. Not all Apple users are Yuppies who will pay top dollar for anew Mac when a used one will serve their purposes just fine. In fact, when my financial situation improves I am probably going to go right back to ebay and look for a G4 400-500 for about $800-$900. Apple will never sell me a tower for $1600!.....................

Yeah, but there's no reason to pay Apple prices for a used machine, which, when you consider the upgrades this machine would need, is basically what you're paying. The ed store will sell you a QS 733 with 256MB RAM, a CDRW, a 40GB Hdd, and a Radeon 7500, all for 1199. That's both much faster and approximately the same price as the G4 400 + a decent CDRW and a Hardrive. So you could take the used deal with the intention of giving it a few neccessary upgrades and you'd end up at the price of a new machine that has a better warrantee, faster proc, bus and Video card.
Paying too much for Apple products isn't wise, but paying too much for used Apple products isn't that much better.
