I was just talking to a fellow Mac sales colleague of mine tonight, and he has a chance to pick up a B&W (not sure yet what speed, but 350Mhz is the slowest) from someone who bought 4 of them due to a going out of business sale. He's getting the machine for $400, which is darn cheap; but my friend follows the used Mac market (I don't), and he said the machine he's buying is worth $500 - $600. Eighteen months ago, I bought a B&W 350, 128Mb, 12Gb demo for $999 from the Apple Specialist where I work, so, unless you're throwing in a lot of stuff, $1000 seems high to me. Your best bet is to check on e-bay and see what they're going for.

On the software side:

Unless you have all the original software CDs, you can't really drive the price up. This is because you are giving away the illegal stuff and they can't be worth anything.....

With all those goodies you could def get 1000+ for that machine....and I wouldn't settle for anything less.

Don't use ebay, you will get far less money than you want....find a buyer in the local area, put out and add, ask some friends, and let people know that you are going to sell your machine. Your best bet is to find a college student who is computer-less.

I sold my old blue and white 350/192/6/cdrw/mouse/keyboard (web page) pretty basic system... on ebay for $800 buy it now + $30 shipping. Could I have gotten more for it? I don't know, I stripped it pretty much stock, so I think I got what it was worth.

You might be better off selling the accessories separate if you want to get max dollar, bundle deals usually come with extras that people really didn't want in the first place and end up selling anyway.

If you want to try and sell it locally, since you're in sacramento (?) try www.craigslist.org, place a free post, there are a lot of flakes on there and stuff tends to go a little low but you'll get like 10 emails about it with various offers and you won't have to deal with shipping if one of them is good.

should i also sell the monitor as a set? i don't see to many desktop cpu's with a monitor as well, which is how i purchased it on apple.com - i bought the monitor separately. should i include it? and if so how much is the o.g. monitor for the b & w g3 anyway?

thanks again in advance.
