I bought this Core 2 Duo White Macbook off a college student who had dropped the macbook. Will sell for whole or in parts. The LCD is broken and the unit will not startup - it gets the three beeps with flashing light upon boot. I tested the 2 Gigabyte of ram (2x1gig sticks) in another macbook and they work perfectly. The battery is also good and only has a 44 cycle count and Charge remaining (mAh) is 5119, which is near new. Power system charges battery.

What kind of drive does this Macbook have? If it's a superdrive, I'll take it.

It may be a combo drive, and not a Superdrive, I'm not positive. The system disc 1 is stuck in the drive. It wouldn't eject when the macbook would boot and emit a loud beeping sound. Let me know if I can be of other help. I tried to determine exactly what Core 2 Duo it is, I know it's 2.0GHz, but could not determine what the optical is. From the serial it looks like it was bought from Apple as a refurbished Macbook.

I should mention it comes with the other system disc. If you can get the other one out, you will have a full set of Mac OS X 10.5.2 install discs for macbook.

You can find out via the battery port area. There is a label on the casing itself. if it shows 2.0/2x1Gb/SD... then its a superdrive... if it says CD...then its a combo drive.

Same strip as the serial number, right? It just says 'Apple Certified Reconditioned' above the bar code.
