Well, crap.

I just now tripped over the power adapter for my iBook, saw a spark near the iBook end, and it's Officially Dead.

So I need a new one. Under $25 if possible. Doesn't have to be in pristine condition; just not disgusting and still usable (meaning no fraying on the yo-yo side of the cord).

Found a seller but he dropped out.

I still need at least one (preferably two) of these...

Are you dead set on it being a Yo-Yo? A 45w white brick would do fine and should be more chance of getting one since the Yo-Yo adaptors failed easily. I've a white brick adaptor somewhere but I'm in the wrong country unfortunately.

Did they (meaning whoever makes non-OEM adapters) make white bricks for clamshells?

I'll take anything, so long as it's cheap. I can get a yo-yo on eBay for around $25 shipped if I'm lucky, $30 if I'm not.

Shipping from the UK wouldn't be terribly expensive if you send it Royal Mail...FedEx or UPS would be astronomical.

Let me know.

AFAIK - as long as it fits, it's compatible. The clamshell & dual usb yo-yo adaptors were both the same - 45w and the brick adaptors for the dual usb/g3/g4s were 45w as well.

Where exactly would I be shipping to (state/city - so I can get a quote)?

47907 is the zip - West Lafayette, Indiana.

I don't believe that the yo-yos that came with snow iBooks were the same as the ones that came with clamshells and G3 PowerBooks - the tip smaller on the snow iBook ones.

And, irritatingly enough, the model numbers are the same between the two.

This is what the end of a clamshell adapter looks like: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=110324207170

And this is the end of a newer yo-yo (not clamshell compatible): http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=370127059088

The 45W for the Dual USB iBook was the smaller plug from the TiBooks used through the Aluminum PowerBooks.

The 45W adapter for the Clamshell iBook is the same as used in the PowerBook Duo, 3400, and PowerBook G3 models, hence a larger connector.
